Contributions to the Justice Larry Doss Campaign are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. State law requires certain political committees to use best efforts to collect and report the full name and address, principal occupation or job title, and full name of employer of individuals whose contributions equal or exceed $200 in a reporting period.
Corporate contributions are prohibited. Individual contributions are limited to $2,500 in accordance with Title 15, Texas Election Code, Section 253.155; however, firms may contribute in aggregate up to $15,000 per individual firm per election. Tex. Elec. Code § 253.157. For purposes of the limits, a contribution from an individual’s child is still considered a contribution from the individual, though contributions from spouses are considered separate.
Each primary, general, and run-off election is considered a separate election for purposes of the contribution and reimbursement limits, regardless of whether the candidate is opposed or unopposed. Elec. Code § 253.1621.
